Shawn just read on Muppet Central that Fraggle Rock Season 2 is due out in September. Good news indeed, and listed in the extras for this season is "A sneak-peak of the Fraggle Film in development." Remember a few months back when I mentioned the possibility of a Fraggle movie?
Well, Netflix got a functional copy of "Almost Famous" out to us lickety-split, so I guess they're link-worthy again.
Both Shawn and I really enjoyed the film. This will sound ironic if you've already seen it, but it has a "real" feeling about it. It's worth a rent, particularly if you're a fan of that era of rock music (early-ish 70s). Killer soundtrack too. The baby kicked along to most the tunes. I guess the baby's a Led Zeppelin fan. My cousin Rachel will be so proud.

My 28th birthday came to pass on Sunday. Another day older and another day wiser. . . or something. My friends wanted to throw me a party, take me out to dinner, what-have-you. I resisted. Perhaps it's a nesting thing, but I haven't been feeling particularly social lately and leaving the house generally feels like more trouble than it's worth. (Apparently cleaning the house has also seemed like more trouble than it's worth because I haven't been doing much of that either.)
I want to recommend a film to you. Pull up your Netflix account and drop MirrorMask into your queue. MirrorMask is what the Henson kids are up to now that they're not making muppet movies anymore, and though it's almost entirely computer animated, fans of The Dark Crystal should see this film.
I just learned that John Fiedler and Paul Winchell both died this week, within one day of each other, actually. If you didn't know, John Fielder was the voice of Piglet and Paul Winchell was the voice of Tigger, among many other voices in Disney films that we love.
Dad and I went to see Star Wars III last night. A few years ago I stopped giving my parents presents for Father's Day and Mother's Day. Now we go on adventures instead. Mom and I have been to the ballet and basketball games. Dad and I typically do baseball, with a few Star Wars exceptions.
