Here's a few disjointed thoughts for the day...
For anyone interested in my vacation photos or a shot of my pregnant belly, I posted some snapshots of our trip to Bodega Bay on my photos page.
For anyone interested in some good books, I finished Changing Planes (which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago) on my trip and it just might be my favorite Ursula Leguin novel. It was extremely peaceful. Read it on vacation or a business trip, especially if you go by plane. I'd offer my copy out for loan, but Shawn has already snatched it up.
I also read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo, by recommendation from Jenny. "Read" isn't so appropriate a word as "devoured," as I sat nestled between clumps of grass on a sand dune at the beach on Saturday. Thank you for the recommendation, Jenny. I bawled my eyes out but enjoyed the process thoroughly. I can also recommend The Tale of Despereaux by the same author. Though less likely to provoke tears, it's a wonderful story about a mouse, a princess, some soup, and a spool of thread.
Two nights ago, I was in the middle of watching Almost Famous (by recommendation of Wil Wheaton), but our DVD player encountered insurmountable scratches about 3/4 of the way through that neither our laptop nor our G5 could overcome. Sigh. I'll reserve recommendations on this one until I get a functional disc from Netflix (no link for you!) in the mail and can finally find out what becomes of Russell, Penny Lane, and young master William.
That's the only news I know.
