I am returned from Stitches West, where I stabbed myself with a felting needle and blamed it on a hamster, performed an impromptu bollywood dance in the hopes of winning free fiber, and accidentally bought a sweater's worth of yarn. It happens.
I also got lost in Santa Clara (just a little), ate cookies for breakfast, and managed not to see/hear the results of the gold medal hockey game despite bouncing around in convention center with about 7000 other people. I credit this both to luck, and to the friend who was willing to fetch coffee for me while I hid behind a pillar in the hotel bar so I wouldn't see the television.
(As soon as I got home, I did watch it, and ladies, you all played well and it was an awesome game. Congrats to both teams. I look forward to the rematch in four years time.)
I went into the convention center without anything on the needles, which is a bit like going into a grocery store on an empty stomach. A really nice grocery store. Bad news bears.
I understand that if you don't knit, this post doesn't make a lot of sense. I could explain it and it probably still wouldn't really make sense. You know how people say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Well, I suppose what happens at a knitting conference stays at a knitting conference, but only because no one who isn't carpooling with you already understands why anyone would want to go to one or what you'd possibly do there.
So, suffice it to say that I had fun at Stitches.
Possibly even too much fun...

What's this? They locked you and Ania up for having too much fun?! I heard from someone about that Bollywood dance, having no idea until now that I knew the perp. Well played, m'lady!

Heh, probably not. It was part of treasure hunt sort of thing. I think I probably had 2000 or so compatriots for that particular dancing adventure.
And it's not how I ended up in the cell...
