Presenting the Porpoise

While we’re talking of yarn and all things knitterly, it occurs to me that my coming out party for my recently completed Porpoise Wrap is well overdue.

So here it is, in all it’s glory, and accompanied by its sister, the Wallaby Wrap.

And I love it.

As a recap this is the Snug Hooded Wrap by Jane Gottelier from Knitting and Tea, knit up in a merino/alpaca/donegal DK from Knit Picks called City Tweed, in the porpoise colorway. From swatch to cast-off, it took me 4 1/2 months. It’s cuddly and warm and spectacular and goes on my list with my Penny Gloves and my Llama Scarf as one of my favorite handknits of all time.

Here are the porpoise and the wallaby in Tahoe together. They did not walk into a bar – to complete the 4 month old running gag – but they did walk into a yarn shop. I’m sure you’re all aghast and agape with surprise...
