Dear Blog,
I have a confession. You may have noticed that I haven't been around much. The truth is, I've been spending time with this other blog. No, it's not like that; I swear. It's a work thing.
See, I've been working on getting this professional certification in my field. (It's kicking my ass, truth to tell, but I'm getting there.) In order to qualify though, in addition to sitting an exam, providing letters of recommendation, and submitting a thick application documenting my educational and professional creds, I have to demonstrate a certain level of community involvement, which includes things like presenting and publishing. To that end, I've been toying around with some topics on which I can expound.
So, I've been spending a lot of late nights with this new blog. Which is why I haven't been around so much. I didn't want to bore you with a lot of geographical particulars that would interest or concern no one who is not already in the field.
But it's officially launched now, so if any of you are in GIS, you might want to meet my new blog geobug. There you will find musings on python and JavaScript and technical tips for ArcGIS users and the occasional rambling on geodesic science. And there will probably be posts now and again that could interest you non-GISers as well, so I'll be sure to cross-post those here as well.
See? I'm not giving up on you. I just need to see other blogs right now. (Come on, admit it. You see other blogs too...)
