While I was blocking at theater last night, I had a pair of socks blocking in the sink at home. I’m on a sock kick. This we know. So when KnitPicks came out with Imagination sock yarn, with names like “Wicked Witch” and “Pirate King”, I had to have some. Plus it’s a merino/alpaca blend. I have a dangerous affinity for camelid hair.
I picked “Evil Step Mother.” Love the colors. Totally tickled by the name of the colorway. So I put out a plea to my local knit guild on Ravelry for pattern help. Something that says, “I’m going to squash all your hopes and steal your Prince Charming.” Knit buddy Amy responded with the Screwball Sock pattern. And here they are. Princess-crunching, sinisterly soft socks of pure evil. Love it.
And while we’re using yarn to destroy the world, I made this little guy for a friend of mine who desperately need a vampire master of her very own to slay over and over again.
Don’t we all?
