My, how he grows and grows. My baby turned two years old yesterday. Excuse me. My little boy turned two yesterday. The only thing that puts him into the “baby” category anymore is the diaper business. He runs, he talks, he plays pretend, he tells me about his day, and about what he’d rather be having for dinner. He gives me hugs and butterfly kisses. He sings the alphabet song and reads short words. He smiles all the time.
Yesterday we went to the library and the park, we had macaroni and cheese and hotdogs for lunch and we sang “I’m a Little Teapot” forty-seven times. For dinner, Shawn and I took him to a pizza place with a salad bar. He got his very own salad off the kids menu and picked all his favorite things: baby corns and mandarin oranges abound. It was a good day.
On that day two years ago, I was very busy bringing this guy into the world.
That was a good day too.
