June?

I’m coming out of a bit of fog. The first weekend in June was the annual student recital at my dance studio. Months of rehearsing choreography and stitching up costumes, a full week of tech, blocking, and dress rehearsals, and then in 3 days, it’s over, just like that. I have pictures, but I haven’t posted them yet.

The close of the recital marked the arrival of the flu. My little family took turns with this one. First Shawn came home with it on Tuesday, then Luke the next day. I fetched chicken soup, monitored fevers, and washed the mountains of laundry that result from having a child that isn’t old enough yet to say, “Mommy, my tummy hurts. I think I might throw-up.” Oh, for an early warning system. My boys were pretty well on the mend by Saturday, and then on Sunday I promptly came down with it, while Shawn fetched soda crackers, monitored my fever, and kept the baby from crawling on my stomach.

I’m a little better today. . . so far. I feel a bit like a groundhog that overslept. I pushed my head up out of the ground and found that it’s not only June, but June is nearly half over.

I’m going back to my apple juice and soda crackers, but I’ll check back in soon.
