Well, it’s been about a month with my new site up and running. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback.
Super-supportive friend: “I love it!”
Constructively critical friend: “I like it but I miss your old site.”
Brutally honest friend: “Dark, dank, and cluttered.”
Thank you friends, one and all. I miss my old site too. I miss rolling up my sleeves and typing out the html by hand and I miss having everything just how I want it with minimal fuss and glitz. However, I’m rather pleased with how my costume page turned out and that would have been a real bitch to do by hand with a similar layout. And now that Shawn helped me hack into the xml code behind these confining little templates so I could make my ruddy hyperlinks blue again, I’m not entirely dissatisfied with the site as a whole.
Ultimately, this whole iWeb thing makes blogging just a little bit easier for me, and a little bit easier goes a long way around here these days. So it stays. The Bug has spoken.
