Film Recommendation

Shawn and I saw V for Vendetta on Friday, which I recommend. A well-crafted story and despite the fact that the Wachowski brothers wrote the screenplay, the dialog was decent (as opposed to the Matrix sequels where the writing slaughtered both films in a very slow and painful way). And in this film, Natalie Portman proves she actually can act, a validation we all needed after last two films in the new Star Wars trilogy.

As with most well-done sci-fi, it's not so much about the future as it is about the present. See it with a friend you like to spin yarns with because you'll leave the theater wanting to play the "I wonder" game.

The story is based on a graphic novel which I plan on taking a look at myself, though I hear the author didn't approve of the movie much.
